Dish network is owned by EchoStar Communications Corporation and has been providing satellite television services since March 1996. Dish Network is the primary competitor to DirecTV in the United States.

Dish Network provides over 200 channels of video, audio and data satellite services to over 10.5 million customers in the United States using 9 satellites which supply coverage to all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Residents outside of this service area may need to use the larger satellite dishes to receive Dish Network. Dish Network also offers its customers high speed Internet, Interactive TV(video on demand programming), and High Definition Television (HDTV). By subscribing to Dish Network you will have a slightly larger channel selection than with DirecTV.

Starband is a partner with Dish Network to deliver broadband satellite Internet and satellite television services. Charlie Chat is a Dish Network show that features information with regards to upcoming programming, hardware, events and new channels.
