What is Pay per view? Pay per view is a program that allows customers of Satellite TV providers: DirecTV and Dish Network, to order special programs for a fee. Some of these programs include movies, sporting events, and adult pay per view programs. The customer must first order the program they want to see through one of the 3 ordering methods which are: online, remote, or by phone. The bill is then sent to the customer and paid at a later time. Pay per view differs from Video on Demand because once you have ordered from PPV the program chosen is shown at a certain time to everyone who ordered it. Video on demand (VOD) allows the customer to see the program at any time they want.
